Stephen's Birthday.

This past week we celebrated Stephen's birthday. We started the morning off with Stephen opening his present from me. I was to excited to wait any longer. A few weeks ago I asked Stephen what would he like for his birthday. His reply was a tree stand. So I was officially on the hunt for the best tree stand. By the way I never knew that tree stands could be so complicated. I mean you've got your ladder stand, a climbing stand, a tripod stand, and this harness thing in which you basically dangle from a tree with a gun shooting at poor deer and whatnot's. So after much advising from my dad and debating I settled for one. The hubby got a climbing stand. He was so proud of it. Then for lunch we had steak and carrot cake. It was a great day.
Then this past weekend we continued to celebrate. We grilled, and ate Stephen's favorite dessert citrus cheesecake. It was so yummy. We also got to have both of our families over. It was a blast to have everyone here to fellowship with each other. Stephen and I have been blessed with wonderful, loving families.

Buster.

I want everyone to meet a new member to our family. His name is Buster. He is a 8 week old boxer puppy. We have had him for a total of 11 days. And, we can tell you our lives haven't been the same since we brought him home. Stephen and I have learned that you don't leave anything in the floor that you don't want eaten or torn up. He likes under clothes... Potty training is the worst. (We have been on clean up patrol for 10 days.) Buster HATES being alone and whimpers when you leave. When walking on a leash he tries very hard to walk you. It is very hard to keep Buster full. Oh... There are so many thing we have learned. But, we have also learned Buster is a very sweet, very loving, very hyper puppy, and we love him silly.

P.S. I watched Marley and Me for the first time last night.
Buster's name should have been Marley.

Posting

Yay!!! I'm actually doing a posting. I really have not felt like posting anything. Due to the fact we have been so busy, and we really are just trying to take time away from the blogging world. We have considered doing away with the whole blogging thing. But, I like how we can let my family see what we have been up to during the week. There is so much to blog about it's not even funny. So I am just going to start with last weekend, since that has been the most recent fun events we have had. We went to my dear grandparents house for the weekend. It was a blast, Stephen and I had the pleasure of raided their garden and got to bring home some yummy goodies. Like fresh green tomatoes, (that were even better fried) fresh peppers, cantaloupe, Oh! and a 50 pound watermelon. I am not exaggerating at all. I wish I had a picture of the thing, it was enormous. Then this week I have been attempting to lay out a few hours during the day to at least get a nice base tan so I won't burn to terribly bad on our vacation that is coming up in a couple of weeks. (I am so excited!) I am so prone to burning. This has been our week. How was yours?

Anniversary Weekend.

Yesterday we celebrated our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! The day was so wonderful. Matter of fact the whole weekend was just completely AWESOME. On Saturday night we enjoyed, indulged and also committed gluttony to ourselves at the Melting Pot. Oh.... It was so good. By the time it was all said and done we really needed to be wheeled out of the restaurant. We were so so full. Then Sunday we grilled steaks and had a wonderful romantic dinner. Just the two of us. We cut off the cell phones, t.v. and anything else that would distract us from one another. We sat down prayed together thanking God for all the blessings we have had in the past year, and each other. While we ate we talked about what each other's favorite memory was of this past year. There are so many, it was hard to pick only one. We also got to cut into our wedding cake. I do have to say for the cake being in the freezer for a year it sure did taste like it did on our wedding day. Someone wrapped it really good. Stephen and I loved every minute of this past year, but we are excited about our second year of marriage and ready to see what it holds.

Carson's 3rd Birthday.

On June 5th our sweet, energetic little nephew turned 3. I can not believe it, he is changing everyday. His party was Cars themed, he loves Lightning McQueen. Kachowwwww!!!!! For his birthday we got Carson this awesome table that you can draw all over with dry erase markers. He loved it.

We also bought a little table and chairs to sit on our little deck Friday night, I was so excited. We (Stephen) didn't get around to putting it all together Friday night so Saturday at six in the morning my wonderful, loving husband got up and started getting the table together. Well, at a little after 6 I got up from all the noise with my beloved husband talking to himself to see if he needed any help. Bless his heart. Of course Stephen said no, then apologized for waking me, and told me that he just wanted to get it all together so we could sit outside eat breakfast and enjoy a little bit of time together before I had to leave for work, and that's why he got up so early. He is so sweet and thoughtful.

Here you go mom this is what it looks like.

Camping with the family.

This past weekend my parents finally came down and spent the night. Only not with us, they decided that it would be better for them to go camping. It was loads of fun spending time with my family. The weekend consisted of some of us sitting and doing nothing, just enjoying each others company. While some others played cards, and one liked playing in the fire (my husband) and there were a few that ate unnecessary amounts of food. Like me. The worst part of my weekend was to see my parents leave. That make me sad every time. I don't like saying good bye.

Flowers.

I just love these hanging baskets. Only I won't be hanging them, I like the baskets just sitting there. They are so full of my favorite colors. I just had to get them.

Mailbox

This was the site when I got home Saturday. Our mailbox was on the ground with the post broken into and Stephen was shaking his head. Ha! We are not sure who did it. We first thought it was the FedEx man since we had packages on the front porch, but we called and they said it was already on the ground. So we started thinking we live right across from a cemetery and Saturday was decoration day so we think that someone ran into it. If that is the case there is no-way of finding out who did it. I mean they could have left a note of some kind. Oh well....

Any Ideas

It is official my hubby has once again started a outage. No fun. I was thinking today, what I could as a project. I pretty much have our flower bed looking good. But I could always plant more flowers? I could volunteer at the hospital in the nursery a couple of Saturdays a month. I' am still thinking on this. If you have any suggestions leave me a comment.

Surprise!

On Sunday the Wheeler kids and there wives threw a surprise 50th family birthday party for my mother-in-law. She was so surprised. It was great. We had a lot of real yummy food, and of course a over the hill cake. Sunday was a little messy outside I keep praying all morning that the rain would hold off a little bit so we could get done with the party. Well.... no such luck the bottom decided to fall out of the sky and it started to pour, everything was getting wet so we hurried and made a decision that everyone would come to our house to do cake and ice cream. We loaded everything in the cars in record time. By the time everyone got to our house we looked like we took a dip in the lake. I think that God let it rain for all of us to have some really funny memories.

Guess What!

We bought a Wii. YAY!!! While we were grocery shopping at wal-mart I told Stephen we need toothpaste and a few other things, and I reminded Stephen that he needed to get some cheep work shoes, so we split up for a few minutes. I just happen to pass the electronics on my way to find my husband and, there were right in front of me calling out to me were five Wii's. That was all that was left on the shelves. Well.... I slipped one into the buggy along with a extra remote and, extra batteries and went on my marry way smiling from ear to ear. When I finally met up with Stephen he looked in the buggy smiled and asked how much it was, I told him. He said nothing else about it suprisingly. So all through wal-mart I was sort of worried that he would make me go put it back. When we finally were done grocery shopping, got all checked out and loaded everything in the car. Stephen turned to me and told me Katie you are something else, I was wondering how long it was going to take you to just slip one into the buggy and bam! we would have a Wii. I was ecstatic, I couldn't contain it. When we got home I told Stephen if you set up the Wii I will put up all the grocery's. That worked out great, by the time I got done it was ready to go. We didn't get to play it very long last night. (boo on that) But, I am dying to get home today and play it.

Happy Easter!

Thank you Jesus for going through all that you did, for me. So I too can live again.
Stephen and I had a wonderful first Easter together. We enjoyed spending it with family. We really have missed seeing my family and all the love they show us each time we are around. We loved every minute of it.
